Abstract
This study sheds light on the resilience and adaptability of Sta. Magdalena's handicraft business owners and workers. The research investigates how local knowledge and skills are leveraged to navigate economic and socio-cultural complexities. The findings suggest that this entrepreneurial spirit fosters a strong belief in the industry's long-term viability. Beyond economic considerations, the study delves into the socio-cultural factors influencing the handicraft industry. Traditions, cultural heritage, and community support are crucial aspects of this sector. The research explores how these traditions are transmitted through generations, the role of community organizations in promoting local crafts, and the impact of modernization and globalization on the evolution of craft practices. The social significance of handicrafts is also examined, including their contribution to local employment, cultural preservation, and community cohesion. The research design employs a descriptive approach with surveys administered to 50 respondents. By studying innovation and cultural preservation, the researchers aimed to understand what makes the handicraft industry successful. The study also highlighted the potential of digital technology to help the industry grow and create more jobs. The overall goal is to provide information that can help policymakers and industry leaders support the handicraft business in Sta. Magdalena. By recognizing the resilience and entrepreneurial spirit of local artisans, alongside the importance of digital tools and cultural preservation, effective support programs and policies can be developed to ensure the continued success of this unique handicraft industry. Community-based Action Plan is also outlined to support the long-term growth of the handicraft business in Sta. Magdalena.
