Abstract
Pantawid Pamilya Program or is popularly known as 4Ps is one of the social protection programs in the Philippines which has been implemented in the country since 2007. The Social Workers are the main implementers of the program at the community level and with such feat, they encounter challenges while performing their duties and responsibilities. This study aims to determine the challenges encountered by Social Workers in Project Implementation of Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program in Sorsogon City. As to the basic profile of the participants, the results showed that most of the Social Workers are in between ages 30-35 years, 91.67% are female social workers and 83.33% are Project Development Officers II with 11-15 years of service in the program. The Social Workers face a range of challenges in program implementation such as physical, psychological and technical challenges. They coped with these challenges through seeking case management training, policy and advocacy education, participation in technical workshops and engagement in partnerships and linkages. They are supported by DSWD through regular meetings, supervision, and feed backing sessions. It is recommended that the Social Workers position be promoted into a permanent position, receive recognition for their loyalty to service and receive technical trainings and capacity development activities for their professional development.
