Abstract
This study investigates the role of technology in enhancing Continuous Professional Development (CPD) for teachers, focusing on social, cognitive, and teaching presence. Using a descriptive comparative research design, the study aimed to provide insights for developing a comprehensive plan of action to optimize technology integration in CPD initiatives. Findings reveal that technology significantly enhances CPD in all dimensions. In terms of social presence, teachers reported a very high sense of connectedness to their professional community, with an average mean score of 4.243, highlighting the effectiveness of online platforms in fostering collaboration. For cognitive presence, technology facilitated resource accessibility and problem-solving, achieving an average mean score of 4.209, with teachers valuing the ease of accessing materials to enhance their professional skills. In teaching presence, facilitators utilized technology to design interactive programs, with an average mean score of 4.280, emphasizing engaging online learning experiences as a key benefit. The overall findings, with an aggregate mean score of 4.244, underscore the pivotal role of technology in supporting teachers’ professional growth. While high levels of engagement were noted, areas for improvement include fostering a deeper sense of belonging within professional communities. The study concludes that technology is essential for effective CPD, enabling collaboration, intellectual development, and teaching innovation. Tailored strategies that leverage technology can address the evolving needs of educators, fostering leadership and intellectual growth in a resource-rich, collaborative professional learning environment.
