Tracking The Career Path of BS Entrepreneurship From 2021-2023 of Sorsogon State University (Sorsu), Sorsogon City Campus: A Tracer Study

This tracing study Tracking the career paths and entrepreneurial endeavors of BS Entrepreneurship from 2021-2023 of Sorsogon State University (Sorsu), Sorsogon City Campus, exploring factors influencing their professional success and entrepreneurial ventures. A qualitative-descriptive survey method, documentary analysis, survey questionnaire, and unstructured interview has been utilized to gather data on graduates’ profile, level of competencies and their skills acquisition along, entrepreneurial management, and operating own business and common challenges and obstacles encountered in their career journey. Out of 243 graduates, 81.1 % are employed, 18.1% are unemployed and 0.8 % categorically have never been employed. Further, the 213 employed graduates, 45.1& are Regular permanent; 34.3% are Contractual, and 9.9% are self-employed; 8% are Temporary; and the remaining are casuals. This emphasizes that graduates who are first time job seekers are being absorb by the companies, shows a positive feedback of their performances. The study concludes that the BSEntrepreneurship program effectively equips graduates with essentials entrepreneurial skills, knowledge and attitude. The increasing number of graduates who are employed and self-employed that are aligned with industry needs and trends concludes that the program fosters competency that enhances graduate’s employability and entrepreneurial success. Hence the program should continuously enhance industry partnerships to strengthen its collaboration with entrepreneurs, startups and SMEs for internships, mentorship and job opportunities in local and national. Further, develop business incubators to support graduate ventures.
